Alok Vyas
Project Manager
Alok Vyas is an urban planner, designer, and a professional architect from Mumbai, India. His interests are focused around urban design and architecture, with particular attention to their intersections with land use and transportation. He has represented the office at international workshops and seminars, and brings to Calthorpe Associates a unique social perspective from his work experience in India. Alok joined Calthorpe Associates in 2000.

Before joining Calthorpe Associates, Alok interned at the Transportation Planning Department of the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG) in Detroit, Michigan and was involved in their 'T-21 Century Plan' process. He has also worked as an architect for a multi-services architectural firm in downtown Mumbai.
Alok received his Masters in Urban Planning from the University of Michigan, where he was entrusted as a research assistant twice. His research was overseen by Professor Jonathan Levine, Coordinator of Doctoral Studies, and with Ms. Michelle Ann Barnes, Senior Research Engineer at the University’s Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI). Alok received his Bachelor's Degree with Honors in Architecture from the Sir J. J. College of Architecture, in affiliation with The University of Mumbai, India.
