Chris Wells

Designer


Chris Wells joined Calthorpe Associates in December 2007.   He's an urban designer with a background in architecture.  At Calthorpe Associates, Chris has been involved in the following projects:   

  • Daybreak, South Jordan, UT –  Daybreak is a mixed-use brownfield master plan covering over 4,100 acres.  Located at the base of the Oquirrh Mountains in the southern end of the Salt Lake valley, Daybreak is a sustainable, full-service community with local and regional scale employment, residential, retail and civic uses, and a full range of open space amenities.
  • Pillar Of Fire, Westminster, Colorado – Pillar of Fire is a 240 acre project in northern Westminster.  The land will incorporate commercial/retail and small business amenities with a walkable, mixed use neighborhood and open space system.  Key features include new civic institutions such as a library and theater, a new magnet high school, and sport's facilities for the Adams County School District; all with elevated views to Long's Peak, the Boulder Flatirons, and Downtown Denver.

Before joining Calthorpe Associates, Chris worked as an Intern Architect and 3D Renderer for Allee
Design, LLC in Lakeville, Connecticut.  Before that, Chris spent 16 months volunteering in Mozambique, Africa.  His work included the design and construction of two school dormitories at a rural boarding school near Nhamatanda.   He later spent 4 months with Habitat for Humanity Mozambique, managing the construction of houses for a Global Village project outside the capital city, Maputo.

Chris received his Bachelors Degree in Architecture from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA.
