Henry Posada joined Calthorpe Associates in February 2005. Henry is an urban designer and has backgrounds in architecture and city planning. His interests include True Affordable Housing, Community Planning Policy and Public Transit that is affordable to all. Among other projects, Henry has worked in the following:
  • Jumeriah Village South, Dubai, UAE - Participated in the redesign process and in developing presentation materials for this 2,000-acre development. The project emphasizes on high-rise oriented mixed use density with a focus on strong community and pedestrian quality using interweaving open space linkages within a defined geometric neighborhood setting.
  • Daybreak, South Jordan, UT - Participated in the development of Master Plans for Village 2 and 3, of this 4,700 acre development, located at the base of the Oquirrh Mountains in the Salt Lake Valley. It is the largest undeveloped parcel in single ownership in the Valley. The project includes a mixed-use town center surrounded by walkable neighborhoods, each with it's own neighborhood or village center. The development is designed around an extensive open space system comprising thirty percent of the site. A sustainable ecological system is integrated into all aspects of the community's development, from street and building design to open space locations.
  • Downtown Jebel Ali, Dubai, UAE - From the design conception, worked in developing the Master Plan and presentation materials for this 460-acre project. Jebel Ali Town center is located at the heart of Dubai's largest new employment and commercial area and it is projected to become the gateway to Dubai's new International Airport and its surrounding development. With four freeway interchanges and four new Light Rail stations it will literally become the circulation hub of the western end of the country. Easy access to the port, airport, industrial zones and the gulf means that the mixed-use communities of Jebel Ali will easily become a desirable place to live, work, and shop. It will effectively become the urban center of a diverse and fast growing new city.

Henry received his Bachelors Degree in Architecture and his Bachelors Degree in City and Regional Planning in Developing Countries from the University of California at Berkeley. In his academics, Henry focused in the impact that international and local socio-economic politics have on the architectural fabric of cities in the Developing World.
