Liang Guo joined Calthorpe Associates in February 2007. His interests include urban design, smart growth, public transportation, and geography information systems. Liang is now working on Arabian Canal Master Plan - Phase I, Dubai, UAE. Other Projects that Liang has worked on include:
Prior to joining Calthorpe Associates, Liang worked for planning and design firms in both US and China, including Lannert Group in Chicago, IL and Institute of Urban Planning & Architectural Design in Nanjing, China. Projects in which he participated range from landscape design to master plans. In summer 2006, Liang took a GIS internship in Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), where he assisted CTA's Technology Management Department on various information technology projects, including validation testing of Real Time Network-Clever Pilot data for CTA bus and train systems, and Rail Info project for Jackson/State Station on the Red Line. Liang received his Master's degree in Urban Planning from the Urban Planning and Policy Program at the University of Illinois, Chicago. He was granted two Graduate Research Assistantships, including one for the "2030 Land Use Forecasts for Northeastern Illinois" with the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, and the other for the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Economic Impact Project. Liang received his Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning from Nanjing University, China. His thesis on integration of land use and transportation launched his exploration in transit-oriented development. |
