Danny Yadegar
Planner
Danny Yadegar is a planner with a background in landscape architecture and a focus on open space. He practices urban planning with the hopes of advancing social ownership of the planning process. His primary interests in the built environment include post-occupancy evaluation, localized economic development, and ecological sensitivity. Danny takes public transit to work.
Since joining Calthorpe Associates in June 2007, Danny has worked on the following projects:
- Alameda Point (Alameda, California)
- Amman Urban Strip (Amman, Jordan)
- Arabian Canal (Dubai, UAE)
Danny believes strongly in learning through observation. During his years in the studio, he conducted an extensive landscaping project in front of his family’s residence and spent a semester in Madrid, studying architecture and public plazas. His senior thesis, Community By Design: A Methodology for Post-Occupancy Evaluation, questions when the role of the designer should end. As the thesis suggests, designers are liable for far more than a constructed environment. Danny also has an enduring passion for urban photography.
In 2008, Danny received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and his Bachelor of Sciences in Landscape Architecture from the University of California at Davis. The synthesis of the two programs has provided him a unique perspective.
